Principal's Message
Dear Guests,
Thank you for visiting Taylor Middle School’s web site. I hope you find everything you are looking for. I am gratified that you have taken the time to learn about our school.
Taylor Middle school is the only middle school for the Millbrae School District, in the city of Millbrae, California. We are located approximately 15 miles south of San Francisco, on the Peninsula. Taylor Middle school serves a very diverse student population of over 850 students in grades sixth through eighth. Our class sizes range from 25:1 to 32:1.
Taylor Middle School has a rigorous academic program. Our teachers collaborate departmentally on curriculum and at grade level to enhance the learning for the whole child. Staff members attend various professional development trainings throughout the year, in order to hone their skills. Recently our staff implemented a new science program for all grade levels and we are currently implementing a new Math book adoption at all grade levels. I am so very proud of the dedicated and resourceful staff that serves the children of Millbrae.
Our school has two computer labs with new equipment that was purchased during the 2006-2007 school year. In addition, this last school year, each classroom, the library, and our administration building has upgraded all of their computers so that students will have up-to-date technology to work with. All of this was made possible by donations from the PTA and through the use of a School Library Improvement Block grant.
More than 70% of our families are members of the PTA. In the two years that I have been here, I have found that the families of Millbrae, community organizations, and the city of Millbrae to be extremely supportive by contributing their valuable time and positive energy. Without this support our school would not be the jewel that it is.
We welcome you to peruse the rest of our web site and Millbrae School District’s home page. If you have questions about our school and its programs, please feel free to come to our school and visit us, call me at (650) 697-4096 or send me an e-mail derwin@mesd.k12.ca.us

Best wishes,
